I’m sitting in the bathroom at my grandparents’ house, on the way home from my Blogger Tour, covered in mud. Well, clay, really.
A few weeks ago, while I was in Phoenix with Kendahl from Our Nourishing Roots, I learned all about real food cocktails and different types of beer. Because I was learning, I was game to try anything. When someone handed me a Guinness and said, “Try this!” I did. And while the liquid was still in my mouth, I realized that I had just taken a swig from an ALUMINUM CAN.
Have I mentioned I’m sensitive to aluminum?
Only a few hours later, my feet broke out into a blistery rash. I’ve been rash free for almost 8 MONTHS now. UGHHHH. So getting this rash again due to carelessness has really upset me. It’s been two weeks since that happened, and the rash has still not cleared. I’ve been doing a real food detox using various spices and activated charcoal—which has kept it from spreading—but it’s still not cleared.
SOOOOOOO, my dear readers, I’ve decided to embarrass myself (once again) on the Internet and show you what I’m up to. I’m doing a chlorella and bentonite clay detox!!
I took chlorella internally today because it helps to detox heavy metals and aluminum, and now, here I am, sitting in my grandparents bathroom with mud all over my face and feet!
Detoxing Clay Mask
This recipe is really intense. Are you ready?
Mix everything together in a non-metal bowl, using a non-metal utensil. (I used my finger. Hehe.) Add clay until it reaches a smooth, semi-thick paste. It will bubble and fizz, but then it will calm down as you stir.
Apply it to your skin in a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch layer. Let it dry for 10-20 minutes.
When it’s dry, it will look all scary and crackly like this!
I applied this to both my face and my feet! It will pull out toxins, heavy metals, and cleanse your pores!
