Turner has a slight defect near the front of the blade.
2 out of 5 stars
Turner has a slight defect near the front of the blade.
I just received the turner today. it has a good heft and sturdy feel. However the front of the turner has a slight defect. it is located where the metal internal frame will soon be poking through as pressure is applied. If the defect was anywhere on the handle that would not be a problem. However the location of the defect is where the edge of the metal frame pushes against the silicone. I hope the company will respond. Photo attached. Based on how they respond i will update my review.

This is by far the best turner I have used. The quality is really good as well as the design. After using it for 3 weeks, I have no problem getting this under anything. I use this for stir fry everyday under high temperature, and the 600 degree heat resistance work really well ( I few of my old turners melted and I had to toss them away). The spring steel underneath also making it very sturdy to turn anything. It does get a but heavy after holding it for a while but for good quality it's worth it. The only thing this turner does not do well is fish. I tried a few times but fish breaks due to the size of the turner, which means I probably need to get a fish turner. Overall very happy with this purchase.

While the leading edge of this spatula is tapered to a fine point, it's quite a steep taper from the body of the spatula, and the spatula itself isn't very wide. It works well for things like cookies which have enough cohesion to stay together as you get under them, but it's a bit bulky for larger, more fragile items like potato pancakes. And while one might argue that a silicone spatula isn't the right tool to scrape a pan with, I often find myself needing a firm edge to scrape up stuff that's sticking to the pan, and the silicone edge is a bit soft to be useful for that. And since the metal interior doesn't go all the way to the edge, I worry that the habit of scraping with it will lead to tears along there. That hasn't happened yet, so I haven't reflected that hypothetical problem in my rating - the 4 stars are for the thickness issue. On the whole, I find the spatula useful in a wide variety of applications and use it regularly.

I've had the turner for about two weeks now, and I've loved using it. It's comfortable to use, and seems to be well made. Unfortunately, I seem to have gotten a bad one as some of the silicone has flaked off on both sides of the front edge, which makes me leery to use it again. I'm hoping I can get a replacement, because I really want to like it more.

My order arrived very quickly and by the estimated date I was given at time of purchase. The iSi Basics Silicone 13 Inch Turner in Red is exactly as the product photograph and description given by the Seller. My old worn out turners needed to be "retired" and replaced. Unfortunately the old reliable turners I'd used for years were discontinued by the manufacturer so I was in search of a new updated product. After looking and searching through many shapes, sizes and brands - I came across the iSi Basics Silicone Turner and was intrigued by the unique angle at the end of the turner and that it's made of silicone as it would not scratch my expensive gourmet cook set finish. This turner is a MUST HAVE for any cook that is looking for a lightly flexible turner without it being completely stiff or too flimsy. It's dishwasher safe too! I purchased this turner 6 months ago from this Seller and I LOVE IT! It is still bright red, still looks brand new after DAILY use and I have put this turner to the test from flipping pancakes, frying bacon or sausage and my favorite use is when I make gravy! With the angle of the end of the turner it gently scrapes the sides and bottom of the pan with ease. I am going to purchase one for each of my daughter in laws and even extra one for myself.

less than a year, I found some nicks on the edge of this pretty turner. I am disappointed. It is made of silicon and steel inside and it seemed like a good quality though

The best use seems to be loosening brown bits from a skillet or pan when making stock or gravy. It also works to move fine bits of garlic around in hot oil.

It really isn't a 'turner' in the sense of a firm flexible spatula.

If is a very heavy base with silicone formed on the outside. The thin edges are the soft silicone.

It is a good tool, once you get used to it.

The only spatula you will ever need. Handle won't break, no BFHAs, can withstand up to 400 degrees, dishwasher safe, can scrape/flip/lift and perfect for omeletes. The trick to a good omelete is the eggs (egg beaters works better than eggs) should be room temp, add just a teaspon of water, beat well but not runny in a (fork-in-mug), cook all your add-in's first or prep them so that they are ready before you start cooking your eggs, butter already warm pan, then heat to medium, drop beaten eggs, then scrape from each to center getting fluffly ridges in center for just a minute letting the runny uncooked egg fill its spot, then pan flat loosen with spatula around edges, now add your other stuff like diced ham and Gouda and snipped chives, then let set on lower heat for 3 minutes, then fold and slide on plate garnish with sniped chives.

You can throw all those other gangly spatulas away. Great gift for a single man.

These silicone kitchen utensils will scrape the food, but not your pans. Rugged enough for any task, yet soft enough to not break a window after seeing how your dinner creations turned out. One star off because it retains cooking odors. I use a lot of spices to mask the flavors of cheap meats, and I this tool "remembers" everything I make. But if, unlike me, you don't obsessively drag your nose on cooking tools before using them, then this point will not be an issue for you.
