I make my own distilled water using one of the Waterwise appliances and got tired of playing musical pitchers. With this crock I can pour my distilled water from the distiller carafe into one reservoir, with a nice big easy to fill opening, AND always have a surplus of water on hand. I first considered something smaller but there were so many reviewers reporting issues with the spouts on the range of "beverage dispensers" that I finally decided to go with this tried and true style. By that I mean one that was designed to hold and dispense from a five gallon bottle. I noticed that the description of this crock listed a brand name spout, Tomlinson, and I guessed that meant it was not only reliable but replaceable too. The spout works flawlessly and does not leak a drop. I can press the lever down for normal filling or flip it up for "stay-on" and faster filling of larger vessels. This crock is more curvaceous than the one I owned years ago, also it did not come with a plastic ring to sit on the rim, nor did I get the catalog of accessories I had hoped for so that I could order a lid. But it turns out that I had something in my cupboard that works well as a lid. A dinner plate would do but I happen to have a plastic cover that fits perfectly. And I don't feel that I need the rim ring since I don't place five gallon bottles on the crock. It looms quite large (about 10.5" tall and about 12" across at the fattest part) on my counter height table but I'm getting used to the look and I LOVE the convenience. I find I stop for a drink much more now than I did when I had to heft a heavy pitcher and even turn on a light to be sure I aimed right. Now I keep my drinking glass right on top of the crock and stop for a drink many times during the day. Which is a good thing. I am very pleased with my big white crock.

This has been a great water dispenser for me
This has been a great water dispenser for me. I have had this for a few months now and have not experienced any leaking or strong chemical odors. It's easy to clean in-between jugs of water and it's simple design makes it blend into the kitchen background (as much as possible anyway). In addition to the great dispenser, the box that it comes in has turned into a staple in my apartment. My cat lives in it. I will never be able to throw it out. It's a two-for-one, really. We both win. Well done, Amazon. Well. Done.
