Heating tipsLe Creuset stockpots can be used with all heat sources, including induction. For efficient and safe boiling, always use a burner similar in size to the base of the stockpot. |
Tools to useWe encourage you to use an oven mitt or silicone Cool Tool to avoid burns or injuries. |
Cleaning and careDo not bang a stockpot down onto a stove’s surface or work surface. Repeated banging may damage the exterior enamel. For efficient and safe boiling, always use a burner similar in size to the base of the stockpot. Do not place a stockpot on a heat source without having liquid in the pot. Do not allow a stockpot to boil dry. Never place a stockpot in the dishwasher. To clean, simply hand-wash the stockpot with hot, soapy water. Rinse well, and dry thoroughly. Do not submerge stockpots in water – the water may become trapped inside the vessel and can lead to rusting. |

The color is cute, too!
Pot is in perfect condition. No chips or scratches. Color is vibrant and actually is somewhat ombre. Goes from darker to lighter as it rides up the pot.
Actually very pretty and professional looking. You can see the coloring better if you look at the photo that has the pot on the stove. That is the TRUE coloring, but a bit more red, not rust colored. And NOT dull colored. But also not the bright cherry red in the single pot photo.
Heavy for it's size and the lid fits well. Knob seems secure. Inside the pot is 'clean' and nice. No scratches or blobs or mars.
Haven't cooked with it yet because it's actually for my daughter's first dorm/apartment. But she appreciates the fact that this is a nice pot, made by a good company that she will probably keep many years. Not some cheapo aluminum dorm pot. Note though that this is not a big pot for boiling pasta or making soup for a large family. Perfect for people who cook for themselves only, or for a few people. Perfect. Love it. Want one for myself. Decent price for LeCreuset.
I have their pans, pots and bakeware.
This stock pot is just another example of their dedication to producing a quality product.
So I was happy to find this pot a couple of years ago. It's sturdy, feels heavy-duty (though not like iron, of course), and served me well until a recent cross-country move, when it apparently got banged on an outside bottom corner (I had a criminally negligent moving company, but that's another story), which chipped enamel off of that corner but also caused a chunk of enamel to chip off of the interior at the same spot. Bummer. But I can't blame the pot or Le Creuset. Given how many of my items were damaged and broken during the move and the fact that the movers even chipped some exterior enamel off of one of my LC iron dutch ovens, it's says something about this stock pot that it only suffered a chip and wasn't seriously dented.
But I can't use the pot with exposed, corroding steel on the interior, so I'm here to get me another one. That's how perfect this pot is for my needs.
I bought this a year ago, mainly to cook pasta, and to be fair, it does the job. But for soups and stews, it seems to leave a funny taste, and the pot is always stained that strange colour. Granted, when I got mine, it was a bargain at $39.99, but maybe some bargains are too good to be true.
After all this time, I decided to share what I thought; many manufacturers can't be bothered to make good products any more so I just assumed this company had done the same. But as time went by, I wondered whether I had received what I thought I had bought. If this is a genuine Le Creuset stockpot, they should be ashamed of themselves. I'm getting rid of mine and buying something else.

Have had it for 2 years now and use it a lot for stocks, soup, stew, and making beer.
I put it in the dishwasher and the finish is holding up just fine.
